Haiti

Nestled in the heart of the Caribbean, Haiti is a captivating country boasting a vibrant culture, rich history, and a resilient spirit. It’s also a country grappling with severe challenges, including the highest rates of deforestation and extreme poverty in the world.

Pressures including population density, natural disasters, demand for fuelwood and a lack of sustainable practices have contributed to significant forest loss across the nation – something, we’re trying to reverse.

In addition, this project is also:

· Empowering local women - by providing employment opportunities to address inequality and improve the prospects of women-led households, which constitute nearly half of all Haitian households.

· Pioneering pollinator agroforestry – by partnering with Prosperity Catalyst to cultivate products that can be vertically layered on farms and in forests in co-operation with partners, farmers, and honey producers.
